Kaizer Chiefs starting XI prediction: DStv Premiership vs Maritzburg United

Kaizer Chiefs will be bolstered by the news that all six of their internationals have returned without any injuries.

The Glamour Boys won their last match before the international break but need to start taking full points in matches against teams in the bottom half of the table.

Here we try to predict the Kaizer Chiefs starting XI for their match against Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.

Daniel Akpeyi returned from international duty in good shape and will take up his place between the sticks.

Reeve Frosler is likely to take over at left back after the injury suffered by Sibusiso Mabaliso.

On the other flank Njabulo Blom is likely to hold onto his spot in the XI albeit in a position that isn’t his favoured spot.

Austin Dube could be afforded a starting berth alongside Eric Mathoho after an underwhelming return from Daniel Cardoso last time out.

Njabulo Ngcobo could yet again be asked to play as a holding midfielder given the team’s success when he fills in at the position.

Ngcobo is there to provide some steel and allow the central midfield pairing of Cole Alexander and Phathutshedzo Nange to be at their creative best.

The front three is unlikely to change with neither Samir Nurkovic nor Leonardo Castro anywhere near a return.

Bernard Parker has enjoyed moving back up front in the twilight of his career while Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat threaten to find their best form.
