Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat notches up top award
Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat has been named by the Footballers’ Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) as the best foreign-based player.
The 30-year-old has just emerged from a tough season, which culminated in disappointment for his team, which let slip the Premiership title right on the final hour.
Khama Billiat named Zimbabwe’s best
This has not stopped FUZ from awarding him with the ‘Best Foreign Player’ accolade for 2019.
“Today Kaizer Chiefs [forward] and Zimbabwe international Khama Billiat received his FUZ award for the Best Foreign Player 2019,” FUZ said in a statement.

Billiat is part of the Zimbabwe squad that will take on reigning African champions Nigeria at the National Sports Stadium in Harare in their Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2021 qualifier on Monday.
The player has been a regular for Kaizer Chiefs since joining from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018.
While donning the famous gold and black of Amakhosi, he has netted eight of his 68 goals in the DStv Premiership, while also providing as many assists.
The bulk of his goal contributions have come in the colours of the reigning league champions, where he managed to find the net 39 times, following his stint at Ajax Cape Town, where he was the standout player over three seasons.
Billiat will have a chance to improve his Kaizer Chiefs record when they visit Golden Arrows on Saturday, 21 November, while he also has an opportunity to raise his stock in continental football, following his side’s qualification for the Caf Champions League.
Amakhosi open the continental showpiece with a preliminary round fixture against Cameroonian champions PWD Bamenda on the weekend of 27-29 November in Cameroon. The actual date, kick-off time and venue is yet to be confirmed.
