Kaizer Chiefs: ‘Nurkovic’s return doesn’t excite me’ – Junior Khanye explains why

2 min read

In case you missed it, Kaizer Chiefs will welcome back the big Serbian star Samir Nurkovic. The center forward was injured since the start of the season.

KAIZER CHIEFS’ NURKOVIC IS COMING BACK, JUNIOR KHANYE IS NOT KEEN

Knowing what Nurkovic is able to deliver game in game out, every Amakhosi fan should be singing in the bath before work.

But Junior Khanye has offered a different take that might or might not change your mind.

According to the former winger who used to beat defenders with the most deadly vala technique we’ve ever seen, Stuart Baxter’s team has been sparkling without a target man.

“Chiefs have been winning games playing with a false number nine and Khama Billiat is doing very well in that role. I still don’t understand how Samir Nurkovic plays,” said Khanye as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

KHANYE LOVES NURKOVIC, BUT…

The Daveyton-born legend was happy to admit he always has time for the player nicknamed “Kokota Piano” – but the truth is Keagan Dolly has done top jobs in the number role.

“I am a fan of Kaizer Chiefs, but Nurkovic’s return doesn’t excite me because the team has been doing well without him. I know the fans are excited, but I am not.

“Keagan Dolly is another player who has been doing well in playing as a false number nine and the team has been winning,” the former dribbling maestro Khanye added.
