Kaizer Chiefs: New Amakhosi coaches spotted in Mzansi!

Another one of Kaizer Chiefs likely new technical staff members has touched down in Johannesburg.

Kaizer Chiefs incoming goalkeeper coach has just landed in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Moreover, he is the second member of Chiefs new technical team to land. Last week, Fernando da Cruz landed at O.R Tambo where he was welcomed by Amakhosi boss, Kaizer Motaung. Meanwhile, Illness Mzoughi touched down in Mzansi at 19:00 on Sunday, 23 June.

SECOND CHIEFS-LINKED COACH ARRIVES IN MZANSI

Mzoughi is set to become Chiefs’ new goalkeeper coach.

“Kaizer Chiefs’ incoming goalkeeper coach, Illness Mzoughi, arrived n Johannesburg on Sunday evening, marking the second addition to the team’s revamped technical staff,” the statement read on FarPost.

Essentially, both arrivals have huge implications for the future of Amakhosi. Firstly, da Cruz was the technical director at AS FAR. This is the same club that Nasreddine Nabi is in charge of. Furthermore, this is one of the FIVE new Chiefs coaches set to take over at Naturena.

GOALKEEPER COACHES ARRIVAL COULD SIGNAL KHUNE EXIT

Intumeleng Khune was earmarked to transition into a goalkeeper coaching role. However, Mzoughi is now set to take up this role. Meaning, Amakhosi ‘s last standing legend faces a likely exit. In fact, Khune has already been linked with a move to PSL rivals. Ultimately, Khune wants to keep playing and the club is not keen to keep him on as a player. Therefore, he is expected to leave to continue his playing career.

Moreover, another three coaches are expected to join up with da Cruz and Mzoughi. Namely, Nasreddine Nabi who has confirmed that he will be coming to Kaizer Chiefs. It is now just a matter of if rather than when with AS Far having progressed to the Throne final.

“I hope to attend the Throne Cup final, God Almighty willing. I learned from friends of mine inside Raja some time ago about the final date and it was said that it will be the 30th of this month. Therefore, before I leave for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa – to have my experience with them, I hope to guide The Royal Army. I will be crowned with them in the Throne Cup final,” Nabi stated on Goal.

Therefore, he will likely be announced as the new Chiefs head coach on the 1 or 2 July, 2024.
