PERCY TAU NEARING EXIT

Percy Tau and Al Ahly continue to bump heads.

Now, both clubs are pushing for an exit. For Tau it is essential that he finds a new club in order to return to the national set up. Hugo Broos made this clear when explaining why he recently did not select Tau during South Africa’s AFCON qualifiers.

Additionally, Al Ahly are pushing to open up an additional foreign spot.

“The player (Percy Tau) and the club have a great relationship but the fact that he’s not playing regularly is an issue because he’s a big player who’s on a big contract. Both parties are open to an exit but the numbers have to make sense from everyone concerned,” the insider stated on Phakaaati.

Therefore, with Chiefs in the market for a new attacker and Tau close to an exit they could make an offer for the Al Ahly attacker in January. If he leaves, that is. Although, this looks more likely than ever before at this point.

CHIEFS MONITORING TAU

Reports on the same publication claim that Chiefs are monitoring Tau’s situation.

“Kaizer Chiefs are rumoured to be also monitoring his situation at the 12-time CAF Champions League winners,” he continued.

Meaning, if these reports are true, Chiefs are awaiting Tau’s next move. So, if he does leave Amakhosi may make an offer for him. However, it must be noted that neither Chiefs nor Tau have commented on these rumours.

Finally, Tau and his camp want him to be paid out $600 000 for him to leave. They originally offered to terminate his contract with a $300 000 offer which Tau and his agent declined.

SHOULD CHIEFS MAKE AN OFFER FOR PERCY TAU IN JANUARY OR IS HE PAST HIS PRIME?
