Kaizer Chiefs latest: Why Mathebula was brought back to Naturena

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr has revealed the reason behind bringing David Mathebula back to Naturena.

Mathebula rejoined Amakhosi as their U19 team coach and Diski Challenge team assistant where he will work alongside Vela Khumalo.

The man known as ‘DVD‘ reunited with former teammates Jimmy Jambo, Arthur Zwane, Aubrey Mathibe, and Gerald Sibeko at Chiefs.

Mathebula returns as a qualified coach with experience having been part of the Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and Marumo Gallants coaching setups.

Now, according to Motaung Jnr, Chiefs decided to bring back Mathebula back as he understands the club’s philosophy inside out.

The 39-year-old donned the famous black and gold jersey for six years between 2004 and 2010 before being loaned out to then Mpumalanga Black Aces.

MOTAUNG JNR REVEALS WHY KAIZER CHIEFS BROUGHT BACK MATHEBULA

“In keeping with the Club’s strategy of bringing in individuals who understand our philosophy, we are very excited to welcome coach David Mathebula back to the Village. We believe he will add a lot of value to our youth structures,” Motaung Jnr told the Chiefs website.
