Kaizer Chiefs playmaker Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has finally received his DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award for December.
Ngcobo scored an outside-of-box goal against Maritzburg United on 22 December 2021, and it was named among the best by the league.
The 21-year-old had not featured that much under Stuart Baxter but due to Covid-19, Arthur Zwane had to take charge of the Chiefs first team.
And Zwane played Ngcobo in the No.10 role, and the left-footer didn’t disappoint as his curler helped Chiefs beat the Team of Choice on the night.
NGCOBO RECEIVES HIS PSL MONTHLY AWARD – PICTURE
On Tuesday, 22 February, Ngcobo’s award was finally delivered at Naturena as Chiefs continued their preparations for the league encounter against Baroka.
Amakhosi’s Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr did the honours as he was the one responsible for handing over the award.
This award surely serves as motivation for Ngcobo whose place in the starting line-up is at risk as Baxter appears to be playing a system that doesn’t suit his football.
However, the midfielder would hope to make the matchday squad for the Baroka match and possibly feature on Saturday.
Kick-off at the Peter Mokaba Stadium is at 19:30.
