Kaizer Chiefs latest: Khama Billiat wants to bring the Nedbank Cup ‘home’

Kaizer Chiefs return to action on Saturday against TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup Last 32, and Khama Billiat wants his teammates to go all out.

Kick-off at FNB Stadium is at 18:00.

Now, Billiat says Chiefs have rested well enough and that the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) break has re-energised them.

Billiat sees this as a new season, and has urged his Amakhosi teammates to start the year on the front foot.

But above all, Billiat wants Chiefs to go all the way to the final and eventually win this year’s Nedbank Cup trophy.

Chiefs have not lifted the Nedbank Cup trophy since Stuart Baxter’s first spell in 2013, but they came close to winning it in 2018 only to suffer a narrow 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy in the final.

Amakhosi are also under immense pressure to end a seven-year trophy drought – the last time they won a major trophy was in 2015.

KHAMA BILLIAT URGES KAIZER CHIEFS TO BRING IT HOME

“We have rested well and we have gotten enough time to boost our energy again,” Billiat told the Chiefs website.

“It’s a new campaign and we need to start strong. We need to make sure that we go through all the way and bring it home,” he concluded.
