Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has explained why the club opted to let go of Kamohelo Mahlatsi.
Kaizer Chiefs release Mahlatsi after a season
Mahlatsi joined Chiefs at the outset of 2022-23 from Swallows but the 25-year-old made only seven appearances.
Motaung Jr said the Chiefs management sat down with Mahlatsi’s people to map out the way forward for his careers
“Kamohelo has given his best at all times while a Chiefs player and, following consultation with his representatives, we decided to release him with a view to him finding more regular game-time somewhere else,” Motaung Jr explained.
“We appreciate his efforts and wish him all of the best for the future.”
The former SuperSport United player is now a free agent.

DITHEJANE OUTSTANDING FOR THE DISKI CHALLENGE SIDE
The Kaizer Chiefs DDC side beat AmaZulu on Sunday 5-1, with goals coming from Siphesihle Tati, Puso Dithejane, Wandile Duba, Donay Jansen and Omega Mdaka. Dithejane in particular has been a standout performer. We could see the youngster in a first-team squad sooner rather than later, and we’ll keep you updated when that happens. Dithejane, according to recent reports, is set to sign a three-year contract with the Glamour Boys.
