Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates target moving abroad

Rumoured Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates target Thabo Nodada is on his way to Europe, according to this week’s latest reports and gossip.

According to SoccerLaduma, Cape Town CIty’s Thabo Nodada could be on the move to Scandinavia.

“Thabo Nodada is closer now than he’s ever been to realizing his European dream, the Siya crew understands. For the last few seasons, one of Cape Town City’s longest-serving players has been linked with a move away from the club. Now, the latest regarding Nodada is that the club is looking to sell him and has targeted that overseas market for this to happen. Scandinavia, and particularly Norway, where City have opened a pipeline with Vålerenga where they recently moved the duo of Brice Ambina and Nathan Fasika, has been touted as a possible destination for Nodada,” wrote the publication.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates both disappointed

Chiefs and Pirates both produced poor results on the penultimate day of the season. Amakhosi drew 0-0 at home against Polokwane City while Pirates lost 1-0 at home to TS Galaxy. The Buccaneers have hit a poor patch of form at the worst possible time. Consecutive 1-0 defeats against Richards Bay and TS Galaxy mean their CAF Champions League qualification hopes aren’t in their own hands. The Sea Robbers face SuperSport United on the final day of the campaign. Second-placed Stellenbosch, one point ahead of Pirates, meet Richards Bay away from home. If Stellenbosch match or better the Pirates result, they’ll seal CAF Champions League football for next season. Pirates also face Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final on 1 June.

Amakhosi in a five-way battle for MTN8 football

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will have to beat relegated Cape Town Spurs on the final day of the campaign and hope the teams around them in the table don’t manage big wins. The table is so congested that Chiefs, AmaZulu and Polokwane all have 36 points while Golden Arrows have 35 and Chippa have 34. All of these sides are fighting for one place and it could easily boil down to goal difference. AmaZulu and Arrows meet in the only direct battle here. Amakhosi sent a video tribute goodbye to outgoing skipper Itumeleng Khune.
