Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates battle for Mthethwa?

Stellenbosch FC’s CEO Rob Benadie has revealed that Chiefs have made a formal approach for their star midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa. The club, however, is not keen to release the 28-year-old midfield schemer. Chiefs currently have first-choice pairing Edson Castillo and Yusuf Maart in the engine room, with Siyethemba Sithebe and Samkelo Zwane struggling to get regular minutes in the first team.

“A few clubs have shown interest, including an offer from Chiefs, but as of today [Saturday], he remains firmly with us,” Benadie said as quoted by SABC Sport.

Orlando Pirates also keen on Sirino

“One player that is set to leave Sundowns is Gaston Sirino. The Uruguayan winger could see himself joining Orlando Pirates by the end of the week,” according to Soccer Laduma.

“The thing is that the player wants to go where he can play and at this moment in time, Pirates have shown interest.”
