The Glamour Boys are 19 points behind log leaders Sundowns who played four games more if one excludes the two matches – against Cape Town City and Golden Arrows – Chiefs couldn’t honour in December 2021.

With Sundowns within touching distance of the 50-point mark, marketing director Jessica Motaung conceded that all Chiefs have to do is to build for next season.

Motaung, however, said finishing the current season in the top three is Amakhosi’s new target – Chiefs are currently placed fifth on the PSL log.

Should Chiefs achieve this new target, they would automatically return to continental football – either in the CAF Champions League or CAF Confederation Cup.

Furthermore, Motaung admitted that Chiefs have their own challenges but they are embracing those challenges as part of their journey.

KAIZER CHIEFS NOW TARGET TOP THREE FINISH

“We would love to finish the season in the top three, and we will use the remaining games to build for next season and take it to the next level,” Motaung told the media at Naturena.

“The challenges are part of the journey, and we are going through challenges. It is a journey that we need to travel,” she said.
