Jerome Opoku rescues point for Plymouth Argyle with debut strike against Portsmouth in League One

Jerome OpokuGhanaian defender Jerome Opoku salvaged a point for Plymouth Argyle FC with his debut goal against Portsmouth in the English League One.Plymouth Argyle had a superb start to the match against Portsmouth at the Home Park Stadium after Sean Raggett put the ball at the back of his own net in the 11th minute.The Pilgrims held on to their slim lead until the 63rd minute when John Marquis planted his ball firmly beyond the reach of goalkeeper Michael Cooper from 12 yards to draw level for the visitors.Frank Nolan quickly made it 2-1 for Pompey with a close range finish.However, Plymouth fought back to end the match 2-2 courtesy a cool finish by England-born Ghanaian centre-back Jerome Opoku in the 78th minute.Opoku played full throttle for his side as he added to his 7th appearance of the season in the match.He joined Plymouth Argyle FC on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Fulham FC in the summer.
