James Blunt climbs Table Mountain – PICTURE

Multiple award-winning and Grammy nominated James Blunt performed two shows in South Africa last week – and appears to have fallen in love with the Mother City.

The now 50-year-old is in Mzansi in support of his new album Who We Used To Be

As reported by The South African website, Blunt and his band played at the Grand Arena at GrandWest in Cape Town last Thursday and on Saturday at SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria.

Prior to his shows, Blunt took to social media to post a couple of pictures of his “pending arrival” as well as on a hike up what looks like Lion’s Head.

Judging by his social media accounts, Blunt returned to Cape Town to climb Table Mountain.

Posting on his Facebook account late on Monday evening, Blunt wrote: “More Table Mountain”.

“I cannot find the words to say how excited I am to get back out on the road again on tour in 2024,” Blunt said.

“My new album was incredibly fun to write and record, and some of the new songs will undoubtedly get you up on your feet and dancing again. I’m looking forward to crowd surfing at a venue near you!”

The album’s first single arrived recently in the shape of the upbeat banger ‘Beside You’.

Directed by Craig Bingham, the video evokes memories of Blunt’s past.

Meeting versions of himself throughout his life, the video sees Blunt embrace the characters of his past self, as he moves forward.

Who We Used To Be is Blunt’s first studio album since the acclaimed, top 3 Once Upon A Mind in 2019.

This time out he has worked with a variety of producers including Jonny Coffer, Red Triangle, Jack & Coke and Steve Robson.

His recent greatest hits collection, The Stars Beneath My Feet, went gold selling over 100 000 copies.
