WHY A PRESS CONFERENCE BY ZUMA?

This after on 22 June, Chief Justice Zondo handed over the State Capture Commission Report to President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.

The Commission was appointed to investigate the corruption that took place during the state capture era. Ramaphosa described the State capture as an assault on our democracy that violated the rights of every man, woman and child in this country.

“Through the various reports released by the Commission, we have come to understand what happened, who was involved, and what effect state capture has had on our state, our economy and society,” Ramaphosa said in a statement.

In the midst of the State Capture Commission of Inquiry, Zuma’s name was largely mentioned by some witnesses who linked him in secretive deals with the Gupta brothers, who’ve recently made headlines for their arrests in Dubai.
