The Bafana Bafana veteran shotshopper was one of the several heroes for Amakhosi following their 2-2 draw with Guinean side Horoya AC on Saturday.

Kaizer Chiefs only required a stalemate (with goals) to progress to the playoffs and thanks to equalisers from Daniel Cardoso and Khama Billiat – as well as a super all-round effort in goal from Itumeleng Khune – that’s exactly what transpired.

The Group C encounter at Stade General Lansana Conte in Conakry saw Itumeleng Khune make no fewer than SIX saves which kept Amakhosi in the contest.

When the final whistle sounded, Kaizer Chiefs had reached their first Champions League quarter-finals in the club’s long history.

Supporters were quick to take to social media to express their delight, with one (@Ndi_Muvenda_) going as far as to suggest a statue be erected on South Africa of Itumeleng Khune.
