Instagram and Messenger get themes in chat and more news

With messaging integration, Instagram and Messenger are releasing several changes for users

Instagram and Messenger continue to show changes after integrating their chat features. After announcing messages that self-destruct, social networks said on Wednesday (18) that both will offer options to customize the chat theme and watch videos together with others in the conversation.

The custom chat feature was already available on Messenger and will now be released on Instagram for those who already have the integrated version. The theme can be changed in the conversation settings area. In addition to those that already existed, the platforms released TinyTAN, the characters inspired by the members of BTS.

The action with the South Korean group also includes 360º backgrounds for video calls. They can be chosen by calling someone by video, selecting the effects icon and tapping on “Backgrounds”. In addition, messages may have a TinyTAN sticker pack, which can be downloaded via from this link.

Social networks also integrated the feature called Watch Together. As the name implies, it is possible to follow content such as IGTV, Reels and other popular videos with other people in the conversation after starting a video call. On Instagram, you can choose what to watch after selecting the Media option. In Messenger, you need to slide the call controls up and touch Watch Together

Instagram and Messenger have temporary messages

A few days ago, Instagram and Messenger announced the temporary mode, which allows them to send messages that self-destruct when closing the chat. Still in the implementation phase, the feature can be activated by swiping up on the screen of a standard conversation. The new area will have the same resources, such as reacting to messages with emojis and sending GIFs and stickers.

Instagram started integrating messages with Messenger in August, when it started displaying a warning to encourage users to update the app. The screen indicated that, in addition to chatting with Facebook friends, users who migrated to the new format would have new features, such as chat themes. The integration is still being completed and is expected to release new features soon.
