Iâm thinking about playing at the 2026 World Cup â Baba Rahman
Black Stars defender Abdul Baba Rahman has revealed that he is harboring ambitions of playing in the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA.The 30-year-old has not featured for the national team in over a year, with head coach Otto Addo stating that this is due to Rahman being booed by fans during his last appearance for Ghana, a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic in September 2023.Rahman has also faced a prolonged period on the sidelines due to a series of injuries, including two ruptures to his anterior cruciate ligament between 2017 and 2020.The former Chelsea defender overcame these setbacks to feature in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, though both tournaments ended in group-stage eliminations for Ghana. Now, Rahman is focused on adding a second World Cup to his career achievements.”Of course I think about playing in another World Cup and I think Ghana is on the right path to qualify, he told the BBC.At the moment I’m just concentrating on getting healthy, getting as many games in my legs as possible for PAOK. Then I’ll see what happens in the future.”Rahman has played eight matches with two goals for PAOK FC in the 2024/25 Greek Super League this season.
