I’ll defend GFA constitution from being modified to accommodate three terms for president – Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has vowed to prevent any attempts to amend the associations constitution to extend the presidency to three terms.Speculation has circulated in recent weeks that current GFA President Kurt Okraku may consider running for a third term after his two terms end in 2027. Presently, the GFAs constitution caps presidential service at two terms, though amendments can be introduced at congress. In an interview with Asempa FM, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe explained his stance, saying, My main reason for saying this is that Graphic [Sports] asked me that there’s a rumour going on or going around that the present leadership of the FA intends coming out with a suggestion that will lead to the extension of the terms of a president of the FA.I think the FA has a constitution and the constitution has come up clearly that the term should be two terms, just like we have in this country now.To me, we have to go by the constitution and if it to defending the constitution, I will definitely do that.Currently in his fifth year, Kurt Okraku faces scrutiny from key figures like Ghana League Clubs Association Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo, who has called for his impeachment, citing a perceived decline in Ghana football.
