A bride has shared a tongue-in-cheek photoshoot – where she trashed her dress with black paint and threw her cheating ex under the bus – on social media after cancelling her wedding.

A WEDDING SHOOT WITHOUT A GROOM

Meredith – a dental hygienist – made the heartbreaking discovery that her fiance had cheated on her in the lead up to their wedding.

But whilst they decided to part ways after four years together, the bride made the decision to channel her heartbreak into something positive after much soul-searching.

She said in various posts: “A lot of women dream of their wedding day, and to have that completely crushed is really hard.

“I spent months seeking answers. Trying to separate myself from the life I created with this person. Life doesn’t always go as planned.

The result was a trash the dress photoshoot where the 27-year-old donned her wedding dress – holding a sign that said: “I got 99 problems, but a husband isn’t one” and “Someday, not today”.

Pop the champagne, I didn’t get married today.

Meredith then changed into a LBD after which shot black paint at her wedding dress in a water gun, and held a cake with the words “I don’t” written in icing sugar.

‘I FELT EMPOWERED’

Meredith revealed that she felt “empowered” wearing her beautiful wedding dress in the shoot.

“Something like this gives women a chance to get dolled up, and do something fun instead of sulking in the misery.

Some women fear the fire, some women simply become it

“I didn’t feel a whole lot of sadness putting on a wedding dress. I was just excited and a little nervous to be doing it, but I absolutely felt empowered.

“After this shoot I truly felt beautiful, like a badass. It was a power move. To me, it says ‘Hey, I’m not afraid to walk this world alone. I am not broken and you will regret this’”.

Meredith also celebrated her “un-engagement” by including her bridesmaids in her shoot.

“It was important to me to have my girls involved, “ she added.

So thankful for these beautiful women.. they were supposed to be standing up there with me on the big day. So of course…
