WHY HAVEN’T THE OSCARS HAD A HOST?

Jimmy Kimmel was the last Hollywood A-lister to host the Oscar Awards in January 2019. According to Vox, Kimmel claimed he earned $15 000 (R227 000) for the gig in 2017.

Actor Seth MacFarlane told Entertainment Weekly the Oscars are a gig that has “all eyes on it”.

“When you’re ding something that’s that much in the spotlight, with that much focus on it, that much intensity, you’re going to have a lot of opinions from a lot of people,” said MacFarlane.
