‘His impact was undeniable"- Derek Boateng wishes Kwesi Nyantakyi could return to lead Ghana football

Former Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng believes football in Ghana has not been the same since ex-GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi was forced to step down.Nyantakyi’s reign came to an abrupt end following the Anas Expose which was aired in June 2018, with the former FA capo allegedly embroiled in conduct against the ethics of the game.Six years after his resignation, there have been calls for him to return to football but Nyantakyi is still in the process of clearing his muddied reputation.Boateng, who enjoyed a decent career with the Black Stars during Nyantakyi’s leadership, hopes the former football administrator now turned politician will return to football.”I wish Nyantakyi could return to oversee Ghana Football. His achievements are well-documented, and it’s unfortunate how his time ended,” Boateng said in an interview with Accra-based Kingdom FM.”I cant comment on the validity of the accusations against him since I wasnt there, but his impact on the sport is undeniable,” he added.Nyantakyi led Ghana to three FIFA World Cups and during his time the Black Satellites won Africa’s only FIFA U20 World Cup.
