Hippos Captain Gavin Kizito Converts to Islam

Islam can be defined as the total submission to the will of Allah and it’s upon this statement that Sports Club Villa defender and Uganda Hippos captain Gavin Kizito Mugweri has converted to Islam.

Kizito, whose new Islamic name is “Shamuran”, has confirmed to ChimpReports that he was attracted by a fellow teammate at Villa.

“It’s true I have converted to Islam and already recited ‘Shahada’ to fully become a true muslim. I was attracted by Asuman because of his Islamic way of life,” Kizito told this website.

Kizito joined SC Villa in 2018 from Vipers Junior Team and recently guided Uganda Hippos (U-20) to the CECAFA U20 Zonal championship that was hosted in Tanzania to qualify for the U20 AFCON tournament in Mauritius.

The 18-year old defender has also played for URA Junior Team, Kansanga Rangers Academy and Galacticos.

The CECAFA U-17 winning defender joins former KCCA FC winger Mike “Sulaiman” Mutyaba as another Ugandan player to have converted to Islam.
