Staying at home this weekend? A hearty beef stew is a perfect companion to make your weekend full of comfort and contentment. Although stews are usually associated with colder weather, you can still prepare it once in a while during the summer season, especially if you need some comfort at home.
A few tips to get your hearty beef stew irresistible
The secret to getting your beef stew incredibly delicious is to cook it slowly. This will allow all the delicious flavours to infuse properly.
Another great tip is to add ROYCO® Hearty Beef 2in1 Stew Mix when your dish is almost ready and allow it to cook for a further 20 minutes. This stew mix adds that extra touch to your dish that will make you want to savour each bite.

Hearty beef stew recipe
Course: MainCuisine: GlobalDifficulty: Easy
1 kg stewing beef
salt and pepper (half teaspoon each)
45 ml oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, crushed
4 tomatoes, grated
1 tablespoon chutney or brown sugar
5 cups boiling water
4 tablespoons ROYCO® Hearty Beef 2in1 Stew Mix (mix into a paste to add to the stew)
chopped fresh parsley to garnish
Heat the oil in a heavy-based pot, season the meat with salt and pepper.
Brown the meat in batches, remove and keep aside.
In the same pot add the onion and fry for 2 minutes then add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Return the meat to the pot and water, tomatoes and chutney or sugar.
Reduce heat to medium and cook for one and a half hours and keep checking if needs more water.
Add ROYCO® Hearty Beef 2in1 Stew Mix and cook for a further 20 minutes.
