Hearts of Oak defender David Oppong Afrane has been ruled out of the clubs 2024/25 Ghana Premier League opener against Basake Holy Stars due to injury.The 21-year-old, who joined the Phobians last year, had limited game time in his debut season due to recurring injuries.Despite participating fully in pre-season and the teams trip to Togo, Afrane sustained another injury during a midweek friendly against Dreams FC.It has now been confirmed that he will miss Hearts’ season opener this Sunday at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.Coach Aboubakar Ouattara, however, has options to cover Afranes absence, with Michael Awuah Mensah, Konadu Yiadom, and Kelvin Osei Asibey all available for selection.The Phobians will look to begin their campaign on a strong note against the newly promoted side.
