Ghana’s AFCON 2025 qualification hopes ‘low to impossible’ â Angola coach
Pedro GoncalvesAngola coach Pedro Goncalves has cast doubt on Ghanas chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, describing their prospects as “low to impossible.”Despite the Black Stars slim hopes, qualification hinges on securing victories in their last two matches, starting with Angola on Friday, November 15, and then against Niger in Accra. Ghana also needs Sudan to lose both their upcoming fixtures against Niger and Angola.Should Sudan win their match against Niger on Thursday, it will confirm Ghana’s elimination even before they face Angola in Luanda, with Goncalves emphasising the uphill battle Ghana faces.”While Ghana is undoubtedly a strong contender, their chances of qualifying are low to impossible at the moment,” he said.If Ghana fails to qualify, it will mark the first time since 2004 that the Black Stars miss out on the tournament, potentially triggering significant changes in the national team setup.
