Ghanaian youngster King Manu joins Hansa Rostock on loan
German-born Ghanaian defender King Manu has joined Hansa Rostock on loan from Fortuna Dusseldorf. The teen sensation joined the German third-tier side on a season-long loan after inking his first professional contract with Dusseldorf.Manu believes the move to Rostock is the right one for his career as he continues his development.”After talking to Amir Shapourzadeh, the head coach, and Chris Kinsombi, who I already know, I quickly had the feeling that this was the right option for me. I think that I can help the team with my qualities and that I can develop myself further both athletically and in terms of character,” he said after signing the deal.”I can be used in a variety of positions and feel comfortable in all central positions. But I can also play in central defense because I’m an aggressive type of player who always wants to win. I’m looking forward to the year at Hansa and the fans and I’ll give it my all.”Director of Professional Football at FC Hansa Amir Shapourzadeh believes Manu’s physical attributes will contribute positively to the team’s success.”King Manu convinced us above all with his mentality and assertiveness. He took an exciting detour outside of the performance centers to end up in professional football, which speaks for his absolute will,” he said.”Due to his size and physique, he has very good physical prerequisites and can find solutions even in tight spaces. With his power and unorthodox style of play, King Manu brings another invigorating element to our game, making us more difficult to predict. Our thanks go to Fortuna Dsseldorf, who have enabled us to bring a very talented player to Rostock through the loan.”
