Ghanaian defender Thomas Boakye parts ways with Halmstads BK
Thomas Boakyes time at Halmstads BK has come to an end.The Swedish club confirmed on Wednesday that they will not be renewing the Ghanaian defenders contract, marking the end of his six-year tenure with HBK.Boakye, 31, made just five appearances in the 2024 Allsvenskan season, struggling with injuries and illness that limited his competitive edge. Coach Johan Lindholm acknowledged Boakye’s significant contribution to the club over the years but emphasized that seeking regular playing time elsewhere was the best option for the player.Thomas has served HBK with dedication, but his recent challenges have made it difficult for him to compete at his usual level, Lindholm told Hallandsposten.
