Ghana midfielder Amankwah Forson makes Norwich City debut in Championship opener

Black Stars midfielder Amankwah Forson was handed his Norwich City debut in the first game of the English Championship season against Oxford United.Forson replaced Liam Gibbs at the start of the second half as the Canaries suffered an opening day defeat on the road.Despite coming on in the second, the Ghana international showed glimpses of quality, giving manager Johannes Thorup hope in the summer acquisition.The 21-year-old joined the English outfit on Friday, August 9, 2024, from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg on a four-year deal with an option of a further year.Forson is yet to complete a full session of training with the club despite making his debut barely 24 hours after sealing the deal.Meanwhile, on a hot Saturday afternoon at the Kassam Stadium, Mark Harris opened the scoring for the host before Cameron Brannagan added the second early after the break.
