Ghana coach C.K Akonnor impressed with ‘outstanding’ Alexander Djiku

Head coach of the Black Stars Charles Kwablan Akonnor is delighted by the performances of new boy Alexander Djiku after his rock-solid displays in the AFCON qualifiers against Sudan.The France-born defender opted to represent the country of his parents after earning his first invite to play for the African side and has since found his way into the starting lineup of the team.He impressed during the first international break when he played in the friendlies against Mali and Qatar forcing Akonnor to name him for the competitive games against Sudan.The Strasbourg defender played a vital role in the victory in Cape Coast and was also ‘outstanding’ in the second leg in Omdurman.Djiku has been outstanding at the back and Im happy that he has done so well,” said C.K Akonnor in a post match interview.”I was even surprised because of the heat,” he added.”This is someone when was born in Europe but you didnt really see much of him struggling until he picked up the injury.”
