Land Forces Commander Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has postponed his planned visit to Kigezi sub region, that was slated on Saturday 9th July 2022.
The ceremony was being organized by a section of political and religious leaders in Kabale District led by the Nakawa Division Deputy RDC Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha.
Kamugisha, who was chosen as the coordinator of the mobilizing committee told journalists that a new date would soon be announced.

General Muhoozi, who is also the special presidential advisor for special operations postponed the event according to Kamugisha, because he wouldn’t be available on 9th July.
The event dubbed Katuna – Cyanika Border reopening thanksgiving event was being organized to, among others thank the Muhoozi for his involvement in the talks that led to the reopening for the Uganda-Rwanda border which has been closed for three years.
During a press conference in Kabale on Wednesday, Sheikh Kamugisha said the thanksgiving had been rescheduled after Gen Muhoozi expressed commitment to the organizers, to attend.
He however added that all the preparations for the function will continue and a new date will be communicated upon consultation with the Bishops, the regional and district Kadhi and other religious celebrants under the auspices of the Inter Religious Council of Uganda.
He added that other extra activities, including sports events will be rescheduled to match the new date for the event.
