Latest injury news
Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove picked up a foot injury in Turkiye on the club’s pre-season tour and he’ll still be out for a few more weeks. The same is true of Brandon Petersen, who’s now essentially the Chiefs’ third-choice goalkeeper. Fringe winger Tebogo Potsane, full-back Dillan Solomons and midfielder George Matlou are all still out while playmaker Mduduzi Mdantsane is a long-term absentee. Bongani Sam, a new arrival from Orlando Pirates, was injured in pre-season in Turkey but is back in full training.
Chivaviro is the man to watch
Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro will have extra motivation to excel here against his former employers where he was so prolific in front of goal. It hasn’t worked out for the 31-year-old as a Glamour Boy, with only four goals in 23 appearances since arriving at Naturena in July 2023.

Transfer wrap at Naturena
Chiefs have invested heavily in their options at the back, while Nasreddine Nabi has hinted that the club are still actively seeking two attackers and there’s talk of an ambitious move for Michael Olunga. Overall, he’s roped in an accumulated €12.24m (R242 million) in transfer fees throughout his illustrious career. He bagged a hat-trick in the first match of this season’s Qatar Stars League. In his entire club career, he’s scored a stunning 188 goals in 250 matches. In his last 61 league matches in Qatar, he’s scored a ludicrous tally of 62 goals.
