Former Al Ahly director hails ‘world class’ Pitso Mosimane

Former Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz has praised Pitso Mosimane and expressed how much he enjoyed working with the South African coach.

According to the KingFut website, Mosimane worked together with Abdelhafiz at Al Ahly between 2020 and 2022 and enjoyed a successful spell with the Cairo giants.

The 59-year-old Mosimane guided the side to six trophies in total, including back-to-back CAF Champions League titles.

‘Pitso Mosimane is world class’

Speaking regarding Mosimane, Abdelhafiz praised the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager and highlighted a trait that sets him apart from other coaches.

“He [Mosimane] is simply world class,” Abdelhafiz said via MBC Masr.

“I really enjoyed working with him in terms of the football knowledge he had and how he managed games.

“He won the Champions League with two different clubs. Of course, most managers will likely win a trophy with Al Ahly.

“But to win two Champions League titles and just miss out on the third one, albeit under controversial circumstances, is still a remarkable achievement.

“Usually he spent around five or six years at clubs he managed and he was only here for two years unfortunately but he was brilliant.

“When it came to big games, Mosimane was truly a genius in how he managed them,” he added.
