Fire guts Kwara High Court Complex, destroys documents

A fire broke out at the Kwara State High Court Complex in Ilorin on Sunday night, destroying part of Courtroom No. 10. The blaze started around 8:02 pm due to a power surge, according to the State Fire Service.

Fortunately, swift action by firefighters contained the fire, preventing further damage to the complex.

Items lost include two air conditioners, a plasma TV, fan, documents, and furniture.

Kwara State Fire Service’s Head of Media and Publicity, Hassan Adekunle, praised the brave firefighters for their prompt response. The Chief Judge of the state and Special Adviser to the Governor also commended their efforts.

The incident serves as a reminder to prioritize fire safety and remain vigilant to prevent such outbreaks.”
