World Cup 2022 is barely a week old and there are already too many talking points and sheer shocks to count on one hand, or tentacle.
Kaizer Chiefs: They got 99 problems and here are five of them
Firstly, let’s just say that predictions are pretty pointless, but that doesn’t mean they’re not fun. James the Jellyfish is here to chug out daily score predictions along with some tasty facts and figures to preview all of the games for you.

Wales vs Iran isn’t going to be pretty
Iran boss Carlos Queiroz has only won two of his 11 matches at the World Cup (D4 L5) across spells with Portugal and Iran. That being said, it should be noted that prior to the 6-2 defeat against England, his teams had only conceded seven goals in his first 10 games. Also, with Iran’s Porto striker Mehdi Taremi scoring 15 goals for club and country this season, I can see Iran getting something from this fixture.
Lions of Teranga should scrape out three points
Senegal can count themselves a little unlucky after conceding two late goals against the Netherlands on matchday 1. Qatar was thoroughly outclassed by a very good Ecuador side and they won’t have much luck here. Watford winger Ismaïla Sarr directly contributed to seven of Senegal’s 15 shots against the Netherlands, and he’ll be a pivotal figure.

Netherlands defensive struggles
Ecuador talisman Enner Valencia picked up a knock against Qatar but he should be fit and firing against the Dutch. Following his brace on matchday 1, the ex-Everton and West Ham man now has five goals from just four World Cup appearances. Don’t be surprised if Ecuador pushes Louis van Gaal’s team all the way here.

Premier League stars everywhere you look in England vs USA
Meanwhile, The USA gave game time to six English Premier League players during their 1-1 draw against Wales. They’ll need all of that know-how here against England’s Three Lions, a team that dispatched Iran on matchday 1. England are sweating on the fitness of skipper Harry Kane, but their young attackers should be too good here.

James the Jellyfish picked two correct results yesterday out of four, including one identical score match with Brazil 2-0 Serbia. I called 2-2 in the Ghana Portugal game. If not for a generous penalty award to Cristiano Ronaldo, we may have been in the money there. Anyway, it’s all in the name of fun and I sincerely hope that you enjoy these previews and stats, score predictions aside!
