FIFA Club World Cup: Al Ahly’s next opponents confirmed!

Al Ahly‘s next FIFA Club World Cup opponents have been confirmed following the conclusion of the semi-final round on Wednesday.

Pitso Mosimane’s men will face Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the 3rd/4th play-off match – with the bronze medal at stake.

This is because Al Hilal were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in the second semi-final where Romelu Lukaku scored the only goal of the game.

Al Ahly will be eyeing their second successive FIFA Club World Cup bronze medal with Mosimane at the helm.

While Mosimane was targeting their first ever FIFA Club World Cup final, Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Palmeiras ended that dream.

Ironically, this was a revenge on the part of Palmeiras who missed out on the bronze medal to Al Ahly in 2021 after losing to them on penalties.

Palmeiras will come up against Chelsea in the final – and that promises to be an exciting encounter between the two teams.
