MARC JACOBS POST-OP SELFIES

A week ago, Jacobs posted a post-operation selfie on Instagram. He was bandaged up, with a mask completely covering his face. Although Jacobs’s 1.6 million fans are used to seeing what the designer gets up to on a daily basis, his followers were praising the bravery of Jacobs’s influence for being so open about cosmetic surgery.

“The transparency is everything! Snatch it darlinggggg! Happy healing,” commented costume designer June Ambrose.

“Oh Lordy I hope your okay. Sending peace and love,” said fashion editor Alexander Fury.

Jacobs went on to share more selfies, updating his followers on the progress that includes plenty of bruising and swelling.

DESIGNER OPENS UP ABOUT FACELIFT SURGERY

Jacobs spoke about his facelift to Vogue and mentioned how he’s been receiving cosmetic surgery for years now and that he is happy about the results of the operation.

“I love the results. I’m very happy. I’m still in the process of going to this hyperbaric oxygen chamber every day for a couple of hours, which is supposed to help with healing. I’m just in the beginning of what will be a few weeks, or a couple of months, before I have a full recovery,” said Jacobs.

Jacobs’s procedure was done by Dr Andrew Jacono, an acclaimed facial plastic surgeon from New York. Jacono also serves as the director of the New York Center for Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery.

Marc Jacobs: ‘Nothing to hide’

When asked about being worried over posting his surgical updates on Instagram, Jacobs pointed out that he has nothing to hide:

I mean, there have been so many things that I’ve been transparent about. Like, once when I went to an event with a baseball cap, and people asked me, ‘Why are you wearing a baseball cap?’ And I said, ‘Well, I just had a hair transplant’.

“People were amused and amazed that I answered. But, honestly, what’s the difference? I’m not covering my face. I’m not wearing sunglasses. I’m not incognito. I’ve got some scars around my ears, and my face is swollen, and I have a bruised neck, but I’m still posting on Instagram. I don’t care,” said a defiant Jacobs.
