Sibusiso Mabiliso had joined Chiefs from AmaZulu at the start of the last term with high expectations given his impressive displays at the Durban outfit.

However, things didn’t go according to plan as he was limited to just six appearances at Chiefs, including a single start which came against Orlando Pirates.

Now, following the acquisition of Edmilson Dove, Mabiliso and Chiefs came to an agreement to part ways, perhaps because his chances of playing regularly had diminished further.

Mabiliso has spoken for the first time since leaving Chiefs, saying he never had injury issues during his stay at Naturena until recently.

And this is because his lack of game time last season was attrubuted to injuries, but Mabiliso said he only read those reports in the media.

The only thing that kept Mabiliso out of the Chiefs team last season, but only for two weeks, was Covid-19, the Bafana Bafana international said.

Mabiliso felt the need to set the record straight simply because several clubs are concerned that he is injury prone now that he has left Chiefs.

MABILISO: I HAVE NEVER BEEN INJURED AT KAIZER CHIEFS

“I only heard from the media that I’ve been struggling with injuries and that I’m always injured. Out of four seasons, I spent at AmaZulu, I only had one injury and that’s when I had a fracture and I was out for two months,” Mabiliso told SABC Sport.

“At Chiefs last season, I never had an injury until only recently in the pre-season, this was the first injury I got. How is it possible that I played over 20 games per season at AmaZulu if I was injury prone? It’s not possible.”

“I only got Covid last year and I was back after two weeks. I’ve never had an injury during the season. My worry now is that this is going to affect my search for a new club,” he added.

“The medical records will show that I have no injury history. Right now, there are some clubs already showing concerns that I am injury prone when I’m not,” concluded Mabiliso.
