Ex-GFA Vice President George Afriyie fires back amid misconduct charges over GPL comments

Former Ghana Football Association Vice President George Afriyie has responded defiantly after being charged with misconduct by the GFA Disciplinary Committee. The charge follows comments Afriyie made on Kessben TV, a Kumasi-based station, which the GFA alleges have tarnished the reputation of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).Afriyie, a prominent figure and outspoken critic of Ghanaian football management, didnt shy away from the allegations. “I told the Prosecutor to prepare to give me more summons because I will back my words with evidence and videos,” he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.com, hinting at an intensifying dispute with the GFA.The charge is the latest twist in Afriyie’s ongoing scrutiny of Ghanaian football governance. Serving as GFA Vice President from 2015 to 2018, he played a key role in advancing youth football. However, his current criticism, viewed as damaging to the GPL, prompted swift action from the GFA.An official letter from the GFA now details the steps for the disciplinary process.
