Ex-Chiefs, Sundowns striker resurfaces in ABC Motsepe League

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Edward Manqele has resurfaced in the ABC Motsepe League.

Manqele, who has been out of the spotlight for years, has officially joined Limpopo-based side Sunrise FC.

Sunrise FC play in the Stream B of the ABC Motsepe League in Limpopo, and the 37-year-old is eager to use his experience to help them gain promotion.

Manqele has been around the blocks for years with his career blossoming at the now defunct Free State Stars.

And that’s when he also played for Bafana Bafana before both Sundowns and later Chiefs signed him. He still follows Amakhosi’s progress in the PSL.

Manqele also donned the white and maroon jersey of the now defunct Moroka Swallows and recently Pretoria Callies.

Sunrise FC took to their Facebook page to announce and welcome Manqele to the club for the current season.
