According to the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Mohammed Manga, the PMS is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing public funds to support Nigeria’s development priorities.

Minister Edun emphasized that the system’s implementation is crucial to achieving national development goals, adding, “The public service plays a vital role in realizing government policies, and an effective PMS is key to boosting productivity.”

Edun also institutionalized “Performance Management System Day,” declaring that every Thursday will be dedicated to PMS activities in the Ministry of Finance.

“Let us embrace a culture of excellence, efficiency, and productivity to serve the nation at the highest level and make Nigeria proud,” Edun urged the ministry’s staff.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, highlighted the PMS’s importance in aligning the ministry’s objectives with the broader civil service reforms.

“The Performance Management System will help us track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions,” she said, marking the launch as a key milestone in the ministry’s pursuit of excellence.
