Edo 2024: Your future’s guaranteed with Akpata, Eholor tells voters

ABUJA – WITH few weeks to the Edo State Governorship Election, a chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, and Founder One Love Foundation, OLF, Chief Patrick Eholor, Saturday, called on the people of Edo State to vote for the governorship candidate of Labour Party, Olumide Akpata, for a guaranteed future and all round development.
Eholor asserted that the past and present of development in the State has not favoured the majority of the people but a few, therefore, the Edo people bare now very determined to stop the ugly past and present experiences they had passed through.
According to him, the candidate of the Labour Party is a man who is bent to give a new relief and fresh air for the Edo people to breathe.
Meanwhile, he accused some party officials using derogatory statements on the people of Edo State, allegedly saying that Edo residents cannot afford DSTV/GOTV subscriptions to listen to APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, while a PDP chieftain made a sweeping generalization that Edo people are known for prostitution, which he described the comments as “series of insensitive remarks from high-ranking members of prominent political parties.”
He said: “Both statements not only perpetuate harmful stereotypes and undermine the dignity of Edo State residents but also distract from the critical issues at stake in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
“It is imperative for political leaders to engage in respectful discourse that focuses on policy proposals and solutions rather than resorting to derogatory and inflammatory rhetoric.
“In light of these disheartening events, we call on Edo State voters to support Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate.
“Akpata, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, brings a wealth of experience in law and a commitment to inclusivity and progress.
“By casting their ballots for Akpata, Edo State residents can send a powerful message in favour of integrity, respect, and genuine leadership.
“As the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial election approaches, let us remember the importance of standing up against divisive and stigmatizing language while advocating for a brighter, more inclusive future.
“With Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata at the helm, Edo State can forge a path forward that prioritizes the well-being and dignity of all its citizens.”
