‘Eating the cats’: The Kiffness Trump remix has over 50m views [video]

The Kiffness has done it again with another viral remix, this time sampling Donald Trump’s “They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats” infamous line in his recent presidential debate.

The Cape Town muso has a large following around the world thanks to sampling everything from animals to little children and even a Ukrainian folk song.

According to the former president and businessman, he believes immigrants in the US are “eating pets” belonging to citizens.

This week, Republican representative Donald Trump broke the internet when he accused immigrants, particularly Haitian people, of eating domesticated animals.

Speaking in a presidential debate with Democrat Kamala Harris, Trump was accused of delivering racially-charged comments when he said: “In Springfield, they’re eating dogs.

“They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”

Trump – who lost his POTUS status to Joe Biden, who has since stepped down in favour of Kamala – is known for his strong views on immigrants and deportation.

However, many have labelled his opinions as racist and even inhumane.

THE KIFFNESS REMIX GETS OVER 50 MILLION VIEWS

Following Trump’s comments, which trended on social media, SA muso The Kiffness hopped on to a sample with a witty song called “They’re Eating the Cats.”

In the clip, the Cape Town artist remixed Trump’s vocals with his own. He even added in some soundbites of – you guessed it – cats and dogs.

He tweeted of his viral video: “On Thursday, I started working on my ‘Eating the Cats’ remix. Finished it that evening.

“Shot and edited the video on Friday morning and released it that afternoon. It’s been less than a day and it already has over 50M combined views (that I’m aware of). The internet is wild.

The Kiffness promised that some of the money raised from his Eating The Cats jingle would be donated to “stray animals in Springfield, Ohio, find a loving home.”

THE INTERNET LOVES IT

On the X app, The Kiffness’s song became an instant hit, being retweeted and viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

And many of the fans hail from the US.
