Benni McCarthy’s side headed into the clash high on confidence after making history by winning their first ever CAF Champions League group stage match 2-1 against Guinean outfit Horoya AC last weekend.

However, while they have been in inspired form in Africa’s premier club competition, their DStv Premiership form has been inconsistent.

And that proved to be the case as the match against TS Galaxy ended in a goalless stalemate.

AmaZulu may be in trouble in the DStv Premiership log

AmaZulu stayed seventh in the standings, but worryingly for Usuthu fans will be the fact that several of the teams both ahead and below the KwaZulu-Natal side in the log have matches in hand over AmaZulu – some as many as four.

Meanwhile, TS Galaxy continued their decent run of recent form which saw them knock Kaizer Chiefs out of the Nedbank Cup in the Round of 32.

Sead Ramovic’s side followed up that up with a 1-0 victory over Swallows FC to move out of the relegation zone.

And thanks to their point against AmaZulu, TS Galaxy are now 13th in the 16-team log.
