Dreams FC, Medeama and Samartex are capable of beating Sudan, says Wilson Arthur

Skyy FC owner Wilson Arthur has boldly claimed that top Ghana Premier League sides, Dreams FC and Medeama, as well as Samartex, are capable of defeating Sudan following the Black Stars’ poor performances in the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.Ghana’s national team has struggled in recent encounters against nations with relatively little history in African football. Recent disappointing results include a 1-1 draw with Niger, a goalless draw with Sudan, and a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the qualifiers, all of which have left the Black Stars AFCON hopes hanging by a thread.Arthur attributes these underwhelming performances to a lack of hunger and commitment from the current squad, especially when compared to the drive of local-based players. He believes teams like Dreams FC, Medeama, and even Samartex possess the motivation and cohesion to outperform Sudan.”National teams that we used to beat easily are now defeating us, and its because they are using a lot of local players who are committed and able to camp longer together, building team unity,” Arthur said. “Most of our foreign-based players are not as hungry.”Arthur also suggested that the Black Stars should consider expanding the squad with more local and African-based players, alongside the top talents from Europe, to restore the teams competitive edge.”I believe Dreams FC, Medeama, and even Samartex could beat this Sudanese team,” he added, confident that Ghana Premier League sides are more than capable of succeeding where the national team failed.
