Did Mngqithi make peace with Sundowns players?
As reported this week, Mamelodi Sundowns part ways with Manqoba Mngqithi before appointing Miguel Cardoso.
MANQOBA MNGQITHI ON HIS CLASHES WITH SUNDOWNS PLAYERS
Soon after taking over as the new head coach, Manqoba surprisingly dropped key senior players such as Teboho Mokoena, Khuliso Mudau and Aubrey Modiba due to reported arrogance over their places in the Sundowns team.
“I am one person who does not want to hang my dirty linen in public and surely for good reasons that these are other people’s kids, and they still have a future in football,” Mngqithi told Robert Marawa on Radio947, as per iDiski Times.
“And the moment I say negative things about players in a public domain I’m being unfair because people will use that against some players and if somebody has done me something wrong its better if I deal with it and solve it one against one and once it’s solved, I move on.
“And once somebody has realized his mistake and apologized, I also move on, so I wouldn’t want to dwell on those issues because I think I will affect the careers of these young kids, and these boys are our kids, and we have a responsibility to them as the seniors.
“There are players that made mistakes and apologized, and when they apologized, I accepted,” the former Sundowns mentor concluded.
