David Oduro: Getting the opportunity to play for Barcelona is not easy
Ghanaian defender David Oduro has expressed his excitement about joining Barcelona as he prepares to start his career with the Spanish giants.Oduro, who signed a deal with the Blaugrana until 2027, made the move from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions this summer.The 18-year-old left-back was one of the standout performers in the Ghanaian top flight last season.His impressive performances earned him trials at both Chelsea and Barcelona, with the latter securing his signature.In an interview with Sporty TV, Oduro shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity: “I am very happy because getting this opportunity is not easy especially coming from Ghana.”He added, “For me, I am very happy. It’s history for Ghana. Being the first player to move from here straight to Barcelona is great news for Ghana.”Oduro will begin his journey with Barcelona B, with the hope of impressing first-team manager Hansi Flick throughout the season.
