‘Conquering the toughest extremes’: Springbok legend Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira joins Isuzu
Dubbed one of the most celebrated rugby stars, Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira has wowed many with his illustrious career spanning years.
He joins a host of celebrated Springboks with over 115 caps and a cabinet of trophies for local clubs and the national rugby team.
SPRINGBOK LEGEND TENDAI ‘BEAST’ MTAWARIRA JOINS ISUZU
Over the years, he has quickly become a brand and has worked with several global companies across all verticals, from sports to lifestyle.
Thanks to his huge following, the Springbok legend is making headlines due to his partnership with Isuzu Motors South Africa.
The picture-perfect shot feels less like a partnership and more like a natural extension of the two’s shared values.
Like those before him, Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira joins Isuzu South Africa as a ‘friend of the brand’ – a company that embodies toughness, realisability and the spirit of adventure like him.
Tendai Mtawarira will be on his next challenge off the pitch with an Isuzu D-Max Arctic AT35.
A payload of over 1 tonne, a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, and 360 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm are some of the specifications that make the car stand out from the rest.
Like Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira, the Isuzu D-Max Arctic AT35 conquers the toughest extremes and overcomes the toughest challenges.
SPRINGBOK LEGEND: ‘I’VE ALWAYS PRIDED MYSELF ON PUSHING BOUNDARIES…”
Regarding the partnership, Ziphindiwe Ngcobo, Department Executive: Marketing at ISUZU Motors South Africa, said, “We wanted to bring on board a brand friend who already lives the ISUZU values.”
“Tendai is someone who has continuously demonstrated resilience, strength, and a sense of responsibility both on and off the rugby field. In him, we see the same qualities we build into every ISUZU vehicle,” Ziphindiwe Ngcobo said.
However, on the other hand, the Rugby World Cup winner Tendai Mtawarira said, “I’ve always prided myself on pushing boundaries and going the extra mile, both on the field and in my endeavours,”
“That’s why I resonate so much with ISUZU—it’s a brand that understands what it means to be tough, dependable, and always ready for the next challenge,” he added.
WINNING BIG ON THE GLOBAL STAGE
However, despite retiring from the game, The Beast’s legacy continues to inspire, much like Isuzu’s legacy in the automotive world.
Isuzu has won big over the years, and the D-Max model has been part of the successful story of the automobile.
In 2023, the Isuzu D-Max was named the Pick-up of the Year by the renowned specialist publication 4×4 Magazine.
That same year, it won the overall award and the Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 was named Best Individual Model. In 2022, the most sought-after model collected the Best Value award.
