Clergy call for truce between President Kenyatta and DP Ruto

Religious leaders now want President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to call a truce.

The leaders said the Country is in a confused and divisive mood and called on two to settle their differences for the sake of stability of the nation as the country gears for the August polls.

They noted that the heated animosity that could plunge the Country into chaos.

Speaking in Kitale, during a consultative meeting of interdenominational religious leaders, the clergy said the current war of words could jeopardize peace in the Country during this campaign season.

Clergy called on Top religious leaders in the Country to start reconciliation efforts between the two leaders to avoid a repeat of 2007-2008 post elections violence.

This comes as Ford Kenya leaders call on religious leaders to be instrumental in guiding the electorates on best leaders to be voted during the August polls.

The Simba leaders led by Secretary General Dr. Chris Wamalwa said there is need for a national conversation on peace and unity during this election period.
