‘Chiefs have made the right signings’ – Ertugral backs Nabi

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral believes Amakhosi have made the correct signings.

Amakhosi have so far signed goalkeeper Fiarce Ntwari from TS Galaxy, Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs and Bongani Sam from Orlando Pirates. The four players are expected to be officially announced when the Soweto giants play Young Africans this Sunday.

Ertugral, who has had two stints at Chiefs, has praised the signing of Dortley.

“Those are good signings for my opinion,” the Turkish mentor told FARPost.

“All in positions was needed. Especially Rushwin is a very good signing, very talented and after the adjustment he can go far.”

“Obviously the intensity in the premier league is different. I see him going far in his career. It’s important for the club to be back in the race for titles.

“Competition is growth in the quality. I really hope and wish the club can be back on track,” Muhsin said.

Amakhosi spent three weeks in Turkey under their new coach Nasreddine Nabi. The team played two friendly matches in Istanbul before returning to South Africa where they will host Young Africans in the Toyota Cup match this Sunday.

Before Nabi’s arrival, Muhsin Ertugral was linked with a return to Chiefs. The 64-year-old coach earlier told FARPost that several Premier Soccer(PSL) teams have contacted him but was not planning on returning to SA.

“At the moment, no [on returning to the coaching scene in SA]. But I won’t rule out anything, you never know in the near future,” he said.

“I’m very busy with a great job that I have currently in the Emirates, and it makes me very happy. I have a couple of projects like in Abu Dhabi at Baniyas Sports.”

In his first stint at Chiefs, Ertugral left with several trophies under his belt, including the BP Top 8 Cup, Coca-Cola Cup, and the Mandela Cup (now known as the CAF Confederation Cup).
